WELCOME TO THE NEW GORMAN CROSSING ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PTA WEBSITE


While many of you are familiar with the role the PTA plays in our school community, we thought it wise to provide some highlights of what the PTA is all about.  First and foremost, the PTA provides a link between Gorman families and the teachers and school administrators.  The PTA is a child advocacy organization that represents every child.  Its mission is to provide a safe and healthy environment (which includes family, social, school and community) for children and youth. With your membership dues, donations, and time the PTA is able to do the following:

 

  • Sponsor programs such as quarterly student assemblies related to cultural arts, a stock market game, and mock congressional hearings.
  • Sponsor family activities such as kickball night, bingo night, the sock hop and Gorman's annual carnival.
  • Provide funding to each grade (Pre-K-5) and program (art, chorus, band, physical education, gifted and talented) to purchase teaching aids and other supplies.
  • Provide a "Welcome Back Breakfast", appreciation lunches, and dinner during conference weeks for our children's teachers and school administrators as a thank you for all of their hard work.
  • Create the school directory as a gift to all Gorman families.
